Herman Silow

Herman Silow will perform live at Söders Hjärta on August 21st from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

If you're not already familiar with Herman Silow, it's definitely time to remember his name. With the song "Jan," a charming and humorous troubadour-style track, Herman went viral in autumn 2023. Since then, he has continued writing and releasing music—albeit in a slightly different musical direction.

In November, he released his debut EP Svenska klassiker, where Herman, together with his songwriting partner Simon Karlsson, moves freely between different musical genres. And the pace isn't slowing down—new music is already set to be released in spring 2025 in collaboration with his label, Sony Music.

Herman Silow grew up in an artistic environment shaped by his family's deep cultural roots in music and literature, including musicians, producers, and authors. However, his relationship with music has never been driven by expectations—rather, it's about exploring, staying free, and following creativity wherever it leads.

What truly sets Herman apart on the Swedish music scene is his multifaceted artistic range. His willingness to experiment with playful influences while also creating deeply moving songs results in a vibrant palette of shifting tempos, new soundscapes, and evocative lyrics. As Herman himself puts it: "What I want to achieve is music that creates images in the listener's mind—so that, in a way, we create it together."

Much of his inspiration comes from the cultural diversity he has encountered during his travels around the world. From the deep traditions of Georgian folk music in the east to the rhythmic tones of Mali in the west, these global influences give his music depth, emotional intensity, and a constant sense of curiosity.

For Herman, music is not just about creating—it's equally about conveying something genuine. Performing live and sharing the experience with an audience, the energy that arises in the moment, is something he values deeply. Whether it's an intimate gig or a larger stage, the connection with the audience is central.

"For me, live music should be a collaboration and harmony between the act and the audience, where the experience and unpredictability are at the center. I hope to grow with and be shaped by the audience—but also that the audience grows with me. Community over performance."

Herman Silow is undoubtedly one of Sweden's most exciting emerging artists. With his unique style and creative range, he has the potential to leave a lasting mark on the Swedish live music scene.
